What is DivX® Video-on-Demand?
DivX Video-on-Demand (VOD) is a digital video delivery service that allows you to download and enjoy high-quality video content from a diverse group of DivX content partners. DivX technology has been delivering DVD-quality, Internet VOD for over 3 years. And today, DivX is expanding that service, offering the ability to play VOD content downloaded from the Internet right on a TV with your iZak™.
What do I need to start watching DivX VOD content?
All you need is iZak™, a computer and a love for movies.
  • Purchase iZak™
  • Create a DivX account at http://www.divx.com/vod/
  • Download their information file, save it on iZak™ and hit play
  • Your unit is now DivX VOD activated and you can start purchasing or renting your movies online
  • Download your favorite movies to your iZak™, hook it up to your TV set, then simply sit back and enjoy the show!
Can I buy video titles through the DivX VOD service?
Yes. The DivX VOD service lets you rent or buy videos. Purchases never expire and you can watch them as many times as you wish.
Do I need to setup iZak™ to work with DivX VOD content?
Yes. You’ll have to register your iZak™ to play DivX VOD content. The registration process is easy and needs only be completed once. To register an iZak™, simply enter the eight character code (see picture above) from your player into your VOD account.
How are video rental expirations managed on iZak™?
DivX VOD rentals for iZak™ can expire in one of two ways.
  • Number of views – This model lets you play a rental a set number of times before it expires. Views are counted only when the file is completely stopped. You may, pause, fast forward or rewind as much as you like without using multiple views.
  • New expires the old – Each VOD customer can have eight rentals at a time. This model lets you keep the rental and watch it as many times as you want, but if all eight slots are full, you must expire one before you can rent a new video.
